JUSTIN TYLER CLOSE [b.1984] is a director, writer, and photographer.

Justin founded the internationally distributed arts publication THE LAB MAGAZINE and was the editor-in-chief & creative director from 2010-2016. The magazine featured photographs and interviews with Marina Abramovic, Wes Anderson, Rashida Jones, Willem Dafoe, Lykke Li, Ethan Hawke, Haim, Kevin Hart, David Fincher, Amy Goodman and Noam Chomsky to name only a few.

Soon after, Justin started directing full-time and was quickly nominated for a Young Directors Award [YDA] at Cannes for a short documentary series with Saucony Running Shoes. He’s also directed campaigns for Mastercard, Clinique, Nordstrom, Citibank, and Chevrolet.

In 2020, Justin exhibited his audio-visual installation THE FIFTY ELEVEN PROJECT with the prestigious Copenhagen Contemporary Museum, consisting of 11 films presented on 11 different screens. Most recently he drove across America capturing his award-winning [short] documentary LIKE FATHER LIKE SON, premiering with Film Supply, Directors library, Nowness and Beyond the Short. This project went on to win silver at the 1.4 awards in the UK.  

Justin is represented globally as a director & photographer and is set to direct his debut feature film in the fall of 2023.
